Hello to all the troopers :)
Just starting out with the Firestorm.
Bought an original 97 model in silver for £3000. Not in too bad nick with just 4336 genuine miles on the clock.
Last bike was a Triumph ST1050 ( superb bike )
Story so far..... Bought the Storm 3 weeks ago. Rode it home from Wrexham ( 50 miles ) all well and good.
First trip out on it.... Ouch.... did about 130 miles on her and engine started knocking :x
Rode it 120 miles home and phoned Biketech. I had read about the camchain issues and it seemed that was the likely cause.
Had both cam adjusters changed to manual ones. Cost... £250 !
Had a quick run out this morning to snake pass to test her out. Bike now seems good.
It never stopped raining grrrrrr…. So headed home, wet, cold and miffed :)

Welcome aboard

Your bike looks like a nice clean unmolested machine. A shame about the CCT failure, not the best introduction to the bike, hopefully you can put that behind you now,

Chris.

Thanks !
Loving the bike and its long legged relaxed gait.
It feels much slower than my ST1050 but I think the speed may be deceiving as I seem to be doing the ton every time I check the clock :)

welcome to the forum, good to see a low mileage bike, tbh your bike would be prone to acct failure, as it's been sitting for most of it's life. they tend to fail after long spells of inactivity, good to hear you got it sorted.
enjoy the bike and feel free to ask any questions....

Yeah its funny really. As I did think to myself.... I will get it done... but no rush, as its only just run in.
We all make mistakes said the darlek climbing off the dustbin :)

Cheers matey :)
I’ve always liked something different and the VTR does it for me. I searched long and hard for a low miles unit. Payed off in the end :)
It feels tiny after getting off the st. Like being back on a 600 lol. No bad thing :)

Very nice. Such low miles. First one I had was silver so I can appreciate it. So long as they're not yellow it's all good

I like the silver, except my ST was also silver lol. A change might have been nice. Kinda like yellow bikes :D I bought a new kwaka zx6r and chose the yellow and black version.

3 grand!
I hope they fitted manuals foc.

I know, low mileage, yeah, but that just means it's spent some years just sitting.
Had a look at the previous mot mileages online?

Still, if you're happy, good enough and hopefully you'll get a few more years out of it.

He was asking 3300 and he accepted 3000.
Mileage is genuine. Have all mots ect. Previous owner only did 1000 miles himself lol
He had the foresight to have all fluids changed and carb cleaned ect.
Before and after cct incident... bike runs like a new one.
Plan on keeping it a few years so it will be looked after well.
Very happy indeed with it !

Oh... and yes.... I had manual cam chain adjusters fitted :)
