is it just me cant see my own avatar??

Mac has supplied some interesting alternative figure pics of late but your original pic seems working OK

im not seeing an avatar on my profile, did try to upload a new one but it started asking about re sizing lol... ill pass in that cause feck only knows what that even means

You might have deleted your old one if you tried to add a new one - and what I'm seeing is a cached version.

You'll need to crop and resize an image to a specified pixel dimension before uploading the new avatar. You can do this either with an image editor app or certain websites will do it online to spec.

Mine's got animation.

Probably there's a file size limit for avatars to prevent folk uploading feature length gifs of say movies so as not to overtax page loading. Your animated gif is quite small so is permitted.

The spec I quoted is from phpbb (default settings out the box?) , and when I tried to upload an overly large dimension image as an avatar I get an error message:

Avatars must be at least 20 pixels wide and 20 pixels high, but no larger than 160 pixels wide and 129 pixels high.

There are different Avatar settings behind the scenes that site admin can fettle with
