Evening guys n gurls

Just got myself my first vtr1000 after owning fz6 for some years, even though my last few days have been bad experience grinder and welder has hopefully sorted the problem. I'm based in Hull.
Being new to these bike in sure this has been asked a 1000 times before I will look through site, but any things to look out for, and what's furthest you have travelled?

Welcome to the club mate. Check the cam chain tensioners have been either changed to manuals or have had the stopper mod done, and if it’s a pre 2001 early model, check the reg/rec has been changed to a later finned one or even a mosfet version.
Hope you enjoy the bike.

Furthest travelled?
Valencia for me, but a few times southern France.
But those were both split over two days, so not really long days.
The NI run later this year will be a 520 mile day at least.

But there will be plenty of peeps who have done more than that.

Welcome aboard Holty

I'm intrigued to know what work you've been doing with the grinder and welder if it was something to do with your bike

Duffy, a very clean and tidy looking Fazer you have there

Chris.

Good evening
Well left side exhaust would not sit properly and has cracked my belly pan, so I had to straighten the pipe abit so only way I could see was to put a slit in the pipe straighten it out abit and weld up. :?

Thank you all for the welcome, I must admit my first few rides on her and I'm upset, she is miss firing and anything over 3500rpm and it just feels like she is shaking me to bits and not running right, my weekend plan is to take carbs off check what jets are in, as she has had standard cans put back on, also going to check timing. I just thought even though she's a twin she would have a little bit more smoothness to her (different class I know) but I have a gs500 twin and that is like a sewing machine in comparison.

Good Evening,
Ah that explains it. At least you have the skills and know how to do the welding
