Hi, I'm Steve.

Had my 02 Storm since 2009 &, after years of ambivalent neglect, has been put back on the road permanently.
What a fantastic machine! Passed its MOT after just a couple of fixes (Replace front tyre & swap very loud underseat exhausts) & now commutes over 400 miles per week.
It has needed some care/adjustments/cleaning etc. and I've found this site to be an excellent source of sound knowledge. Carb strip, clean, balance, mixture along with TPS adjust has worked wonders.
I must 'fess up to something though. The CCT's were replaced with originals just prior to purchase & they're still running.
It's my next job as, although it's still not running 100%, it probably won't be running at all unless I get that sorted!
Can anyone recommend a manual kit please?
By the way, I'm in Southend, Essex.

First of all welcome to the forum. There are a few suppliers for ccts. Bazza on here does them as well as Ade Whitmarsh. Some people get annoyed with Ade but I have used his and they are pretty good quality.

Bazza of this here parish & Wickford sells converted std ones to manual jobbies, fair price keeps a semi origonal look & does the job just as well as other brands that are avaliable.

There is a get together in May where if you not 100% sure aboubt doing in someone will help you with guidence on how to do it...It really isn't hard TBH even a monkey brain like me can do it & have several times now. Of course there will also be several other people probably taking the pith out of you as well at the same time... viewtopic.php?f=14&t=41844

I'm only 6 or so miles from Southend unfortunatly the River Thames is in the way so you'd have to come via the Datford crossing...unless you have a boat ?

Yeah, I've not seen similar exhaust routing on a storm. Looks cleaner with rear peg hangers off but the cans were leaking & burnt a hole through the mudguard!
Poor old thing stood out in all weathers for around 2 years. (I can recommend Halfords' solar battery charger!) The lights & indicators didn't work & nor would it crank. Some WD40 & a few taps with a screwdriver handle sorted all in about 10 minutes.
The indicators are sometimes reluctant when cold but I've read here that the switch may need a proper clean.
I had a look this morning & my tensioners have 8mm headed bolts/caps(?) on the rear of them.
Would anyone here know the likely type I've got?

Do they look like these - if not then they are more than likely to be OEM CCTs - unless they are Bazza's conversions
