Dearly beloved...

I got married a couple of weeks ago, every wedding needs a theme of course so our theme was naturally bikes...and..purple, after visiting a few places and getting the cost of some , for want of a better word, metal sculptures and Motorsport themed tables and decor, we decided to make as much as we could ourselves.

I visited a few dealers over the last year and picked up some worn out items that had been replaced, then had them vapour blasted , after that I either bolted or used JB weld to hold them together and make a good base. Rhodes and Track in Northampton lent us the powder coated 900ss heads...My kind of dealer!

They looked fantastic with the flowers in them and cost just the vapour blasting.

The link pipes bolted to this brake disc are from the system I bought from Ian a few months ago and are now in proper use on the bike!

I think this was an RSV link pipe and water pump , lock wired together.

Tables themed by manufacturer , guests table plan listed on various items , I had a real giggle imagining the faces of some of our older guests when putting this together.

My good lady made the podium.

We also had a local company manufacture a load of bunting with manufacture logos and flags to add to the look.

For the drinks tables, I bought 4 x 45 gallon oil drums and a friend made some wooden tops for them, with chess and draught pieces to match.

CBR and Firestorm toppers with a tread pattern in the bottom tier of the cake looked and tasted fantastic.

Photographers interpretation of True love...I wasnt disagreeing..

Anyway, 2 years in the planning & it all came together , far from dreading the day as I had been, it really was great fun as well as all the other cliches, May not be to everyone's taste and certainly most brides id guess but we didnt care.

Looks like you had a great day, and I wish you all the best for the future.

Fanbloodytastic!

On a more serious note, the whole point of a wedding (which some people have forgotten) is to make vows to each other in the presence of witnesses who will REMEMBER the occasion. Not many people will forget that wedding.

Well done. My best wishes to you and your lovely wife.
