Firestorm to 'race shift'

Post by bigr250 »

Hi people.

One of my first questions to the forum was whether this was possible without structural alterations, and while it's probably not of interest to many it'll make a big difference to me.

Good news for me, it was as easy as I'd hoped. Simply flip the shift arm on the selector shaft upside down and 'hey presto', race change.

I think for perfect operation the arm could do with being nearer to vertical which will require a shortening of the link bar but that's for another day.

It'll probably go one spline further back as the lever is too high at the moment anyway, but lots to do with not much time today or tomorrow but we're a step closer.

I took this off today too.Image

Definitely looks better without it. (to my eye's)

Erm, that's definitely a road legal tyre officer!!!! Cut slicks are safe!!!

bingo! this will reduce the lever throw and improve shifting noticeably

Just buy an adjustable rod.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
