I have been looking around Carl & they seem to be called "Felt Flap" I've only seen the ones made by Dronco

The different colour of material = different grade

Those are the same as I used, only from another brand. Biltema in Norway is a store with cheap stuff and tools, but things like these discs are nice to buy here. £6 for one disc, and they have three different colours, each for different grade. I used the finest, but would be happy to find a finer one.

Finally got to work on the bike today. Bought a new set of fairings this week. It will be repainted, 'cause the flames are certainly not my style
Image

I also had a look at the forks wich has caused me a lot of headace, not knowing what condition they are in. As you can tell from the pic, I'll need new pipes.
Image

I had to make myself a longer unbrako to get to the bottom drain screw. Just pressed out the short 6mm from the pipe, cut an angled unbrako to the right length, and pressed it down in the pipe again

Happily the damper and everything inside the pipe was not damaged!

And of course... A little sand blasting at the end

You would never have guessed nothing inside got damaged after seeing the photo of the bent stanchion, you were lucky there.

What's wrong with the flames :?: :) a bit 70's probably, or was it the 80's

Chris.

Chinese Fairings...I like the Red Flames it gives some fire to the storm. You have me thinking now, Yellow/gold or Red with Black I'm think ing I would like some Golden flames along with golden anodised bits and wheels. Mmmm maybe the flames are a bit over kill.

See the following thread for Fork rebuild.

Yes... we call those chrome bits Stanchions not pipes otherwise is could cause confusion with your exhaust. The lowers are caller...you guessed it, fork lowers. You may as well upgrade the springs while your in there.

Fairings are not Chinese, but original with hot flammable stickers under clear coat :eek2 So I will have that sent 35 years back in time! Thanks a lot for the rebuild-link!

Do you say unbrako in England? I saw the bottom screw of the fork lowers was called hex in the rebuild-link.

Hex is the generic name, Allen and, I think, 'Unbraco' is a trade name > http://unbrako.com

Unbrako is used in other countries, e.g. Australia. It's a proprietory name for a general tool. In England we often call a Vacuum Cleaner a "Hoover". Hoover is a manufacturer that makes vacuum cleaners. Unbrako (the manufacturer) make hex tools. Unbrako is rarely used in the UK.

Make sure you clean the powder coat off where the brake discs mount to the wheel, it's a machined surface and needs to be flat, bare metal.
