Hi Andy,

Pyronix Enforcer - wireless, and as Guy Martin would say, "proper job". Bit more expensive but it's industry standard kit and often fitted in new build homes. Put panel in the house, door sensor and a PIR in the garage and another in your hallway etc:

I can get you spares/additions or external siren for pennies through work

Nothing wrong with an alarm but I would consider a camera with motion detection essential.

My system detects motion, turns a light on and records snapshot pictures which as sent to my phone by email. It's caught and banged up one scrote already. I'm an IT nerd so I set things up myself so can't recommend a proprietry system. But, the most important part is to get a decent camera. Expect to pay at least £150 for an internal only camera.

12v batt on a trickle charger and a micro switch to the door. Then run it too a car horn. basic cheap and it works. Just remember the micro switch when you open the door. Switches are £9 each from Maplins
