Longer sidestand?

Post by artee »

Hi
Is there a bolt on alternative to the standard side stand?
I find mine a little too short and the bike leans over a lot.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem.... but as I have to garage the bike in a very narrow space I have to be very careful when getting off.
I already have a piece of wood on the floor to put under the stand but its still a little awkward.

Yep I have 4 BB stands sitting on my bench awaiting the mod to be done, just a case of welding a hoop on to extend the foot prong...

Heres one I did earlier...

£30 posted but there may be a delay as I have to get some more prong extender metal & then weld it on...

Yes it is a straight swap.

Be the weekend before I get things sorted out though. I'll PM you when sorted.

Is it possible to fit the stand without the extra sticky outy bit and is it still usable?

I have one fitted without the mod and can use it fine with my size 14 feet. I will agree that it could be easier to use if it was modified, but for me I'm happy to leave it standard as it gives me no hassle. I'm not sure if having standard exhaust link pipes would cause it to be harder to use though as I have a pair of Quills fitted.
