Duffy's FZ6 Fazer

Post by Duffy1964 »

I thought I would post up my bargain buy of a mere £500 on a 56 plate with 16,300 miles on the clock

This is how she was when I picked her up, not run for 5 years and a bit of a sorry state

Image

I spent a couple of days just cleaning her up, fitted new battery, oil & oil filter, plugs, air filter and a pair of MTC race cans and ended up with this

Then I fitted a Tail Tidy

After

Then a Rossi touch

I sold the Blue Storm mate, the Fazer is my daily commuter, nice and nimble, handles well and I had an indicated 0ne for tea with a gear left on a run to Hastings, so it's pretty quick too

An absolute steal that. All it needed was wash and a bit of TLC. Fantastic bikes.... IIRC it a detuned R6 engine.

Thanks guys I am well pleased with it, it had new tyres 100 miles before it was off the road, I know they are 5 years old but they handle pretty well to me. They are Battleaxe 020's.

I got an MOT before I fitted the tail tidy but I will need to get a small reflector for plod

Rode it to work today and it is well flickable in traffic

No Chris you will need to clean your own bike fella

Bargain, that's the 2nd fazer I've heard of in the last week that was got for £500 the other was an early one but has Ohlins shock and fork springs, bodywork just a little tatty. Need some bargains like that down my way then I might make a bit of money.

I don't think so, I think these two were just real bargains. A mate recently picked up an 03 Fazer 600 for £2000 10000 miles and like new, not a mark on it, that was on the money, early Fazers go from £800-£2000, later ones £1200-£2000 would be about right, early bike is better though, last of the early ones best of all.. Storm prices are pretty stable at the moment, but as with the Fazer there's so many out there that there will always be the odd bargain to be had sitting at the back of someone's garage or garden.
