New from South Africa

Post by Moriwaki HRC »

Hi Guys,

I have just joined after chatting to Mr Roger Ditchfield.
He's been of great help in trying to identify a Moriwaki VTR Firestorm for me.
I have the opportunity of getting it at a great price, and it seems to have all the right bits.

The owner of the bike makes BST wheels, and what a priviledge it was to see the bikes and wheels in his factory!
He has a relationship with all the big and boutique bike names, Britten, Confederate etc and makes bits for these bikes!

I will post up some pics but so far Ive noticed :
Spondon swingarm and frame with ears
Troy Corse's actual WSB front end off his Ducati
Ohlins rear shock with two remote adjusters
Akropovic pipes
Dymag/BST wheels

Pretty excited about this find!!

Will keep you all updated!

There are still many unanswered questions regarding the full veracity of this bike.
From the photos I have seen the one thing that is certain is that it is a Spondon frame and s/arm.
There is no verification regarding the exhaust but the pipes could well be Akro but the cans do not look genuine to me.
Stuff like the front end and the Ohlins damper are genuine.
The bike has front facing radiators - these are not Moriwaki
I have not seen any evidence as yet that either of the two engines are Moriwaki ST2 specification.
I am still talking to Justin in an attempt to be able to verify these essential elements of the seller's claims.

Thanks guys!
Roger and I are busy sorting through the details and I'll hopefully get the engines opened to validate the moriwaki status.
I'll hold out on more info until we have confirmed all the specs.

She looks a little rough - just been collecting dust in a corner for many years.

Once I see what all is in the deal I'll decide on whether to do a resto.

Welcome aboard Justin

You're certainly speaking with the right person (Roger Ditchfield) regarding your questions on this bike.
I hope the bike turns out to be what you think it could be.
