Air filter???

Post by Teach72 »

So after fitting new air filter... The last was the original!! Went to ride and didn't seem right. Seemed far less power then would suddenly kick in. Change gear then go again then back? What have do done wrong? Also seems like a cough / knocking from under the tank?

Is it the same type of filter....original or pattern part. If K&N or other higher flowing filter then it would have changed the airflow which affects the tune. Was the old air filter really badly clogged up? In which case a nice new clean filter will allow more air affecting the tune.

Other than that if you had the tank off, check you put the vacuum back in the right place, not the bottom nodule but the one behind the left fuel hose. Not that you needed to but did you remove the airbox at all?

Please confirm that the smaller diameter vacuum line has been fitted to the fuel tap so that in enters the tap in a horizontal position, rather than vertically down from the tap.

You didn't turn the fuel tap off, did you?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
