Good or bad activities to combine with biking

Post by StewartR »

9 mile run road/trail run, got home, super fast shower and raced out the door, on the road by 8, in jeans, and....it wasn't that warm. Cue cramp after cramp as the evening got progressively colder.

What else + biking = bad

Or

what else + biking = good

Eyeing up the skirt on a hot sunny day while riding the bike = bad or is that good  MMM not sure, maybe it depends on if one crashes or not.

Hill walking - I did 50 munros using motorbikes as transport.

One time coming back from Glencoe to Inverness I had to wear my rucksack in front of me to help with the cold. On most occasions, though, getting back on the bike and riding home was an ordeal.

Using a sidecar outfit was slightly better, but neither beats being able to rest in your car if the weather's bad.

Rock climbing was a bit easier by bike, but a small injury can be a problem. I broke a finger once and it was hard getting the bike gloves back on.

A rock climbing bike, now that would be easier on the fingers and legs. Did it need to chalk it's boots first.

Don't go to the Gym after work and do a good shoulders, arms and back session.
Getting home on the bike after that can be a little bit painful. You might end up having to lie on the tank
