Ted's 'storm resto
So, kinda started this last night. Only spent an hour or so as I was in late from work!
Don't expect photos everyday either - I'm not setting any world records for time to strip/rebuild this!!
I'm very happy that I didn't find a home of mice in the airbox too!!!

Has it been in the Sea? I can see you've got your work cut out but worth it in the end.

That's one mucky pup !!
You might want to strip the carbs as it might have a jet kit in there as it has a k&n filter if it don't have a jet kit fit a standard filter .

It had been left outside for 2+ years under a cover! Carbs will be having a full strip down/sonic clean and re-build - will check the jets too and change if required!

I hope those forks aren't too pitted, I thought my bike was mistreated, nothing that can't be put right with loads of tlc, good luck with it big ted.....

I've just been making a list - in addition to CCT's + possible Reg/Rec!
I would like to think that with everything on my list, I can get this bike on the road for just about 1k - and £350 of that was to buy it!!

It's worth cleaning and fixing her up. There was a limited number of Anniversaries made so would be good to see her back in the road. Which number is yours? Even better put back to how she came out the factory, though some of the parts me be hard to source.

I don't know which number she is I have no documentation to back up the 'Anniversary' bit of her heritage, just the fact that she has the white nose and seat cowl. If she is, she doesn't have the plaque on the top yoke, or any other bits like the cans/rear suspension/steering damper etc. I think after putting her back together, I'll contact Honda directly and make the relevant enquiries regarding it though.

Mines an "Anniversary" edition, as i celebrate every time i ride it, Fix it up and ride it, thats enough for me, cosmetic changes are personnel, riding these bikes is where the fun is. I want to get the lightened flywheel done then doing nothing but ride it this year. Good luck with the bike too.

So today I got to spend the whole day on the bike!
Front and rear calipers taken off, plus lines removed. Rear wheel out, and everything de-greased and cleaned.
I don't think the carbon hugger had ever been off!
Fairings haven't been washed/polished in a VERY long time!
Cleaned up the majority of the grounds, and re fitted the original rear indicators (replacing very VERY small aftermarket ones!)
Took all the surface rust/crud off the front forks too, as well as the oil lines!
Some pics for you all to see!

Wow those fork stanchions came up well, good work, and is that a crankcase pressure release valve I spy where the oil filler cap should be or just an aftermarket cap.

That's just an aftermarket filler cap...have the original, but not sure if to keep the anodized one in or go back to the original....!
