impossible light trick

ok so went to change headlight bulb today. simple job 5 mins max.

aha said the god of chaos let make the old bulb stick in the fitting so you ping the retainer clip off trying to remove it.

bugger it...removed bulb and looks like need to reattach retainer once in. ok no probs...

aha again, why don't i manage to drop bulb inside head-light instead, that would be fun.

Now the bit that really gets me is that trying to get bulb back out it seem obvious that the bulb is larger than the fitting in back of head-light as you would expect and so won't come back out.

SO HOW THE FECK DID IT GET IN THERE!!!!!!

might have to take front of bike off now to get it out....sob

Yep fairing off just so you can get better access.

I used a flexible grabber thing I have to pick up & pull it towards the hole then grasp it with a pair of long nose pliers & wiggle it back out.

May work with a magnet on a stick worth a try or failing that a bit of coat hanger type wire with a small hook fashiond on the end to pull it up then get the long nose on it.

About a minuet to retrieve if that + the 10 to 20 mins to get the fairing off & on of course...

Tsk they aren't ''Lost'' per say, just fallen in...

My excuse is a ferked wrist...I just cant get the angle of the dangle right these days...

I was sitting in traffic the other day behind either a seat or a skoda and I noticed that both rear brake light parts of the cluster had a bulb rolling about under the one that was working in the socket ??

As is well documented above, I managed this magic bulb trick last week, a hammer through the front lense is quite effective or, if you have the patience give the bulb a little wiggle and twist and you will get it out through the rear hole.

Lord knows what Scoobie & Jamies excuse is...
