Nice one Macdee

Are heated grips noticably fatter than Renthals for example?

Had a look at this and nearly bought a loading ramp. Decided to have a quick look on the bay and found one for £25, happy days !!

yes I think they are and that is why I never had them fitted to my bikes................till I discovered the Symtec heating element that you fit to the bars then put your renthals back on top of them. best for both worlds now

yes simple to fit, the wiring and relays are the main pain, and they are the same as fitting any heated grips.

yes nice and toasty, but 2 comments.
1) only 2 settings so not as fine control as others, so with wet summer gloves setting 2 can get too hot and you can burn your palms as the heat transfer is helped by the water!
2) even though they design the element to be different power to compensate for the different heat conduction of the plastic twist grip vs the bare ally handlebar, it was still hotter on the throttle side than the clutch side. So to fix that I took the element off and fitted a heatshrink tube over the ally bar and refitted the element and grip.........doing this after you have fitted it is a real pain, so do the adhesive coated heatshrink before you do the first fitting.

Sweet, thanks for the info :) good tip with the heatshrink on the left bar.

Are these a good price? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 0286947416

I am sure I only paid £48, but it was from the same place so looks like the price has gone up

Can you not just route the exhaust pipe from the front cylinder up in front of the headstock, through a splitter/reducer and exit out through the clipons?
That'd work, no trouble, definitely, that.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Oh, and all the coolant running out of the bar ends is going to be a good thing?
