July 4th (touchy subject(?)
So here in the States we are celebrating our independance day. Always wondered if you blokes are aware of it, or is it a sore subject? Are you happy for us or do people grumble about the insolent upstarts?
To us we figure the hatchet was burried long ago & the UK is still family.

From what I can tell we know about it, obviously, but simply aren't that bothered ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
We all had emails at work today from the American office wishing us a happy independence day, thought it may have been a bit below the belt to send to all the offices around the world but oh well. You can have your day

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Who cares what the meaning behind it all is. It's just an good excuse for a days holiday and a piss up. Or to spend some quality time with family. Or both
Everyone deserves that.

I got over the slap in the face, tea in the drink nonsense, long ago. What is a little unforgiveable was the subsequent puckering up with the French. Really, some things are beyond the pale ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

People in the UK aren't bitter about it no. It passes by without any media coverage over here.
Great film. In fact, Sarah and I are watching it now![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I would be surprised if most people in the UK really knew what it was all about
I quite like America and Americans in general, always had great experiences when there and meeting them
would actually like to go and work there for a while

What film are you guys speaking of. Born on the 4th of July or independance day? Kind of a boatload of movies about the 4th & revolutionary war.

Knowing the low level of brain power/appalling SOH,of the combined post-ies the film being referred to is Independence Day...Which I note you didn't feel it warranted capitalisation or spelling correctly, which kind of sums the film up really...bunch of toss...Smokinjoe73 wrote:What film are you guys speaking of.
