Engine swap... So the plan is to move the ancillary bits from this engine and rear end bit by bit from one to the other then wheel the frame back over and drop it on again.... Simples

That ones dirty

No it has developed a high freq vibration over the last 5yrs and it makes it a real pain doing long distances, nothing else has fixed it so I bought an engine off one of the lads off the forum 2 summers ago, and now it's time to getting done!

I had a heart murmur for a moment  and then I realised.

Did you have to remove the front end to lift the frame off Al or did you manage to lift the whole lot over. It looks like your bike has turned into an acrobat. :biggrin

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Stripped and rebuilt engine or just taking a chance?

Checked compression on both for comparison purposes?

At least your'e working in a nice dry centrally heated garage, only two metres from the beer fridge. Happy days!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I will strip and rebuild the one I am taking out as it is a bit lower milage ( well it was when I bought the other one 18 months ago, they are about the same now!!)

No, I decided that I would try it full assembled with the forks, front wheel and rear subframe all all still attached. It came apart fine and it's handy having a wheel to role the frame away like a wheel barrow.

Yup, all the bolts at the back are loosened just need to pull out the pivot and wheel the fully assembled swing arm onto the new engine.
