will it Fail or Pass M.O.T ??

Post by Diabolus »

I've had the storm for nearly a year and MOT is due (test on Tuesday), the only concern are the Yoshi cans that are stamped 'not for road use', i'll cover that bit up with some carbon wrap.
If it fails i'll be asking vtr forum members for a standard set to borrow for re-test. Their 102db but I think they sound fine. Just a poll for fun :)

It's not the volume that will cause any problems (at testers discretion) but the marked Not For Road Use is a definite no no. It's whether you can pull the wool over the eyes of the tester with carbon wrap.

I had the same problem with my old Microns at MOT time - so the MOT tester ground & polished the stamping out before passing it. Problem solved
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

As mentioned, depends on the tester at the end of the day!

Old CBR had one marked not for road use, covered it up with some electrical tape and the tester noticed, laughed and commented on how they're loud bikes anyway and passed it.
Working manual CCTs thanks to the wonderful folks of this forum :)

You need to adjust the poll with an extra option....'It depends on the tester.....'

PASS ! Just an advisory for 'slight play in rear
bearings' I saw a smile on the mot testers face when
he was reving the storm. I made a last minute
desision and dabed metal polish over the 'nfru'
stamp to hide it, don't know if it worked or he passed
it anyway. Nice bloke we had a chat about puncture
repair kits and how he runs a tyre for the rest of its
life on repairs till there bald. :D

Well done good news  I have had tyres in the past with over half dozen patches/repairs. I think there is a legal limit of something like four. There are good and bad kits out there. But when done properly they work very well.
