New member with 50th Aniversary Storm

Post by porschewhite »

Hi,
Ive just recently purchased a 50th Anniversary RS performance vtr off ebay. First one ive seen for sale second hand!!! Purchased unseen & delivered via courier, not in bad nick for a nearly 15 year old bike.
Some slight paint flaking off mudguard around bolts & on fairing (dream machine), rubber worn off footpegs on Harris rearsets & no Proflex shock, been replaced with a disgusting Hagon unit!
Contacted Harris, pegs no longer available?? Contacted Proflex, replacement available £780 plus vat!!!!!!!, contacted dream machine, tint for crimson paint no longer available, vinyl around number boards, out of stock, minimum order £2000????
So basically, no one can help me.
Just wondered if anybody on the forum could help with a replacement shock with remote resevoir, pegs , can get the modern replacement from harris, but would like to keep it original & standard & colour code for paint???
Want to restore the bike to its former glory & add it to my collection of 90's Honda's .
Any help greatly appreciated, My front mudguard is slightly out of shape & out of line with the wheel, noticed it had fender extenda on it, didnt know if this has caused owt?? A good front mudguard may be needed, just getting the 50th decal done for the front mudguard, looks like goldleaf? :?

Mmmmm 50th decal , just so happens my painter chappie is going to be doing one for me .
And yes it is gold leaf , i purchased some for him to do the decals for my re-spray , its a pig
to lay on to the paint ( or so he tells me ) hes done my tank and im more than happy with the
result .
this isnt something i`ll be doing right now ( im trying to focus on finishing my house at the
moment so bike re-spray is down the list a bit )but when i do i`ll get a spare done for you FOC .
good luck restoring her to her former glory .

you'll have to find an ultra rare honda 50th blackbird next, if i remember they didn't end up making 50 of them because of a dispute between honda and rs performance, although i might be wrong, i haven't ever seen one for sale......
