You're Nicked!

Post by Furrybiker »

If you own a black one with a top box, you have been nicked by a camera in Brighton. I know this because a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" dropped through my letterbox this morning! Mine has a very similar reg, close but no cigar... Also I was on a charity dog walk with 40+ Greyhounds and their owners a hundred miles away.

I phoned Sussex Plod who told me that it was all automatic, but it cant be as my bike the wrong colour and wrong reg. They are writing to me to say its a c@ck up.

First one like this I have had, but a mate of mine had one for a car with his registration, only thing was the real vehicle was a bike and he has never been to Edinburgh and on the date he was in meetings all day, in Saudi ! That took ages to resolve

That's showing as a Blue one on the database, can't see either of those colours being fast enough to set off a speed camera :problem:

I have the points, from another incident, to prove that you are both wrong!

OK my reg was correct  it's a long story, but the bike wasn't of course mine! I have now had Sussex plod admit that they read the reg incorrectly and are very sorry :cool2 So much for it being automatic.....

So if you have a black one with a top box, and you were in Brighton on the 15/4, watch your post. Actually though you may get away with it as they have to get it to you within 14 days!

no they don't ;)
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

It's about 30 days or so. At least it was when I read it in a bike mag's legal questions bit a few years back.

No problem, the fastest colour is Silver closely followed by Orange.
Sadly, they're a disillusioned lot in here so you'll get all sorts of differnt answers but don't listen to 'em, the true answer is Silver

EDIT: Pah, you're not new at all, you're an established member of several Years so you know yourself it's Silver
