Replacement engine

Post by bsabloke »

Hi all. I brought a 98 vtr a couple of months ago. It had been stood for. Several years. It is burning oil & blue smoke. Will the engine from a 2001 fit straight in.

But it might be just stuck rings, so keep and strip the old engine and see what it's like.

It could also have a bent valve or two from a failed CCT, by the way.

If so, it'll be two bent exhaust valves, front cylinder.
Just a hunch....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Storms were never injected, always carbs.

So a 2005 should fit fine
