Probably a silly question! But can you usenormal lead acid batteries on a 98 storm or do they have to be the gel type

you need gel one ,acid one no good,because battery is on slant ,acid would not cover plates,i was going to get one till battery guy told me hope this helps.

use a motobatt quadflex battery....code MBTX12U...

20% higher cranking power...ideal for vtwins
maintainance free,never needs water
no acid to spill
no initial charging needed
install and go

they are alittle more expensive than the OEM battery but well worth it
