Hiccup while idling

Post by charlie2ie »

:?: Hi Guys and gals, have my firestorm couple of months now, love it. Just about to fit manual cct's.
I notice a hiccup or stumble sometimes when it is ticking over, it almost kills the engine, I have read about funny coughs and splutters from firestorms,
is this one of them? Bike rides perfectly otherwise. any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Balance the carbs, raise the tickover a bit and try some new plugs.

Other than that, they all do it to some extent

Thanks, :)
I found another similar post. It seems that "they all do that" is the common answer. Mines not that bad its just the knock it makes sounds a bit scary.

Mine makes a knocking noise occasionally too. Scared me the first time I heard it. Now, after a brief warm up, goes away altogether.
