No more biking for me

Post by Gerrit »

On 20 Feb, as I was leaving Kyalami, the front wheel tucked in on some loose gravel, the bike connected some concrete bollards, bounced, and came down on top of me.

Two weeks in ICU, ...broken right foot, broken pelvis, 4 ribs, 4 vertebrae, and right shoulder...the ball broke off in the shoulder socket.

They reckon 4-6 months of rehab.

At least everyday is better with less pain.

Eeek looks like a bollard or a pretty large bollock impact in the tank. Have you Xray pics of your bunken bits as well - How did they reattach your ball - titanium? pelvis - Open book I presume? Must be fun (not) on your back 24/7.

Heal well and mind the bed pan....

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Dunno, that rear wheel and swingarm look ok....

Glad you're ok, though.

Glad you lived to tell the tale kiddo.
My son's mate split the ball in his right shoulder after shoulder barging the tarmac. That was two years ago and he's riding motocross again now!
Wish you a speedy recovery fella.
