16ltr tank modification question !

hi all

i am currently in the process of altering a stock 16ltr tank.

now the welding is complete i have filled the tank from completely empty.

has anyone ever filled one of these tanks from bone dry before? if so can you remember what you managed to get in it?

i have got 16.5 ltrs in, which considering its a 16ltr tank is a bit of a poor improvement !!

if ive only gained 0.5ltr then its off in the scrap bin lol

wow, that's not good Mark after all your hard work. I've never tried to see how much a standard 16ltr tank will hold from fully empty so can't help on that score. The only thing I can think of is, perhaps your tank was repaired at some point with filler and had a reduced capacity before you started the modification

I've run empty before and filled up, bike on side stand rather than upright, but it wasn't anywhere near 16 litres, think it was more like 14 at the very most!

looks like my design was flawed lol.

least it didnt cost much and i got paid for doing it while we had nowt to do
