tony.mon wrote:I wondered why you took the airbox off, as you only need to take off the rear cam cover, then you can do the rest from there; you don't actually need the front cover off in order to do the CCT's.
It does actually say to take the airbox off on the CCT removal & refitting guide in the workshop knowledge base, cause I've just taken mine off.

You'll need to if you want to start with the front cylinder, but if you start with the rear one it's not necessary.
That's the quick way, but to be fair it's easier to adjust the front one if you have the airbox off, if you use the Ape or Rider ones.
If you use Bazza's converted ones they stand high enough to adjust from the side without problems.
Guess which ones I use by choice......

BTW, nothing against rider's ones, they're good quality and look great.

Luckily had a grip on it like a turd on a blanket so not much damage, just a few scrapes

I know the feeling mate as the bike slowly goes past the point of no return, I think I dropped most of the bikes I've owned at some point. :(

Whilst we're slowly moving towards CCT again, replace the cam cover gasket for a new one once removed?

Bit of bumper filler, wet'n'dry, primer and colour match finish & lacquer she'll be as good as new

I managed to plonk the existing rubber gasket back in place - though it needed 3 hands. A dab or two of silicone should help hold it in place.

You can reuse the rubber cam cover gasket lots of times, but make sure the half-moon sections sit in the correct place; if one moves out slightly you will get an oil leak which if it's the rear one will go all over the rear tyre.

Perfectly acceptable excuses, those).

attempted to do my fairing lowers in carbon vinyl, virtually impossible to get smooth all over especially around the edges so pinned that idea and prepping it for painting again!
