Brought home Storm No.6

Image

Getting a bit crowded...

So apart from a really shite front brake it rides ok, motah is nice & pulls well, no nasty rattles or noises.
Will be sorting the CCT's, brakes, fork oil, linkage, oil & filltes.

It has a clear led rear light, no rear indicators but the indis do flash in the tail light, only they are red not amber...That 'll get sorted.

At the other end it has a HID fitted, which is nice.

No mirrors fitted...Storm ones as std aren't the best in the world but with none... 8O

So the paint work, stone chip apparently. I posted a pick up on one of the Storm pages onFB. Two of the previous owners owed up to a few of the mods...It had been hydrodipped by one of them. The next one whilst drunk decided he didn't like it so painted it with the Stone chip...
It's ok at 50 paces  close up it is well rough, abit stelth TBH.
Have to decide if I'm gonna retire Custard (if so he retire peacfully to Franks greasy mitts..) & keep this one to commute on. Or retire this one & keep Custard..Or keep both & only store this one & ride Custard until he passes away...

OH & from now on this one will be called Blonkey. Didn't like Tar Baby...Blonkey you say...Well we had the Wonkey Donkey (RIP) & this ones Black & is also a Donkey...So Blonkey it is then.

Dont know what this is all about...

Pass the heat gun...click.hmmmmmmm.click...peellllll...thats better.

Interestingly in the pile of paperwork with it is this...

A most appropriate bin photo job!

There was a matt black paint job done from the factory but it was never an offical UK colour, some did make it in as imports, looked good with orange decals...

This one, Blonkey, has been treated to a drunken rattle can job of stone chip. It is far from an offical Honda colour ...

Not my bike and not today but yesterday... Helped deshevelled button up his storm (ex MAV) after MCCT fitment and a refurbed starter motor. It's been sitting in my place for months now, waiting for the pain to reduce and the enthusiasm to increase. I had the honour of the first stab on the starter button and Andy was all grins after the first ride.

Result.

Yesterday I changed the brake and clutch fluid along with the oil/oil filter on the storm, pulled the brake pads out for inspection and one was down to next to nothing, so thats the next job for the storm.

im thinking of going British for pads and buying EBC HHs, any feedback appreciated.

Typically today was lovely so I half inched the Mrs CBR600 for a blat, another very underrated and bargain priced bit of kit from the same era.

As far as I know EBC HH pads are made in the USA, although they are a British company, their organic pads are made here..

Anyway I have EBC HH in mine and they are good, with fresh fluid the brakes are strong with good feel.
