general queries b4 buying

Post by cunningstunts »

hi guys as you can see im a newbie.

im considering chopping in my thundercat for a firestorm(i miss the twin thing) but before i jump i need a little push.

does the storm suffer from carb icing at all(my cats a pig)

ive read/heard about the nightmare tank range,is it really that bad?

and finally will a larger fuel tank fit an older bike.

hope ypu can help

Well... I bought my Storm in November and I`ve run it though winter (4000 miles) without carb icingm, compared to my ZX6R which was constantly stuttering.

Fitting a later model tank is not a realistic proposition as it isn`t a straight swop and with regards to fuel consumption it is not a problem depending on how you use the bike. 100 miles or so is usual and for my 80 miles a day is OK.
.... no more bike, divorce sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do 100 ml fill up no point bigger tank u just carry more petrol
and no shi** carb icing like the ZX6R i had.
stock forks & shock are ok for road they keep your speed down
have fun.

John.
So thats why i bought a bike so i could see my money and licence go quicker

The carbs have heater hoses fitted.

I had a "Thunderkitty" and definitely the mileage is much better on the 600, but that's the price you pay for a little character :)
