Dave,
most important aspect is what spring rate do you need for your weight and riding style, after that there is the debate on Linear vs Rising rate springs, only then do you need to choose the source of springs.
but if you have sorted the first 2 of the above, my not very helpfull advice is that you get what you pay for.
I took the short cut and had a suspension [and firestom] specialist rework mine with springs and damping to suit me, so I dont know who he gets his springs off, but I do know they are linear.
Contact Roger at Revolution racing if you want to go down that route, or even ask his advice on fork set up. http://www.revolutionuk.co.uk/.

That's what I've done to mine
It's a real easy and cheep alternative to having your forks reworked. Personally I can't fault them for road riding.

Yes the storm may be in the group wthat works with Progressive springs, but I think Race Bikes are linear.

Im confuggled now...
Re: WIRTH or Hagon Springs Forks
VeeTeeArrrrr................get out and ride your bike, that will help clear your head of all this confusion
and the easy answer is that the Storm forks are so softly sprng and under dampled as standard, any stiffer spring and thicker oil will be a night & day improvement.
Has been suggested that taking the spring out of your biro would be an improvement
Unless you over fill the oil level and then you will know what solid means!

Re: WIRTH or Hagon Springs Forks
I've got Hyperpro progressive springs in mine and they are great. Highly recommended.

Guys ur the best........er 15 stone......
I get the feeling a proffessional set-up is best but I'm ok splitting foks, and I guess my oil is 12 year sold.....! So a change will be a s good as rest.....like the springs gonna get em on order........
Be in touch thanks for the help
Lets get that Welsh bike stop sorted- get you boys and girls out dancing...

By the way whats the deal with the oil height read on here somewhere some folks using different levels of height to improve damping..
Less oil or more?

Re: WIRTH or Hagon Springs Forks
I can give a definitive answer to this and a "gert splash" in each leg is sufficient, this amount is measured in an old tea cup, bout half way up.
Re: WIRTH or Hagon Springs Forks
I have 135mm air gap and 7.5wt oil.
remember to set air gap with forks compressed and springs out..............
Embarrassing confession is that in my youth I got this wrong and set with springs in and forks extended............then set off to spend long week end riding round the Lake District......nearly broke both my wrists the front end was almost solid on the bumps as the lack of air gap made the spring rate go through the roof! dont tell anyone

Hi Dave
The Hyperpro kit comes with oil , air gap settings and base levels so dont go out and spend too much time on them yet.
I've got to agree with AMC about the linear springs and racing, after all, you need to tune the forks to the track and don't want any changes of feel between bends. Progressive will let you cope with a much better range off conditions without needing to be tweeked, much more suited to our ever changing road surfaces in my opinion

He says lowering the forks in yokes by an inch is dangerous...anyone else done such as stupid thing and got away with.....needed for the abismally short stuffs who ride storms..........
Thanks everyone........
