Bike Plans

Post by bealsey »

I have had a busy week ordering all the parts for my bike and playing around a bit on Photoshop, this is what i hope it will look like, not sure what colour/s to go for, thinking Duke 888 Pearl white, Black and red or black and gold, what are your opinions?

Looking good - Reminds me of this US S'Hawk

The fun bit, as others have mentioned, will be not losing performance with the new exhaust routing

Bealsey, I'm really looking forward to following your progress  Your photoshop image looks pretty good I'd say.

That well modified Firestorm posted above by Wicky was originally built by Brian Light (sp Leight) and looked as below. Iirc the new owner wanted a lower seat (as above pic), so swapped back to an original Firestorm/Superhawk seat and tail plastic's.

Yeah, that Pearl White sure looks good.
Seriously considering it for mine, with satin black underneath.

Scraped to buggery at the moment, so it'll have to be sprayed one colour or another, might as well get something as bit different...

So don't do it, or it'll look like I'm copying you... :D
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Tony you can definately get that pearl white now! I have gone a slightly different route, decided to streetfighter the bike as i love naked bikes too much! Just bought Renthal straight bars and top yoke clamps, Ducati Termi carbon exhausts, ducati rear end and seat cowl. Have fitted the single swinger and welded up the duc subframe. I have attached a design, what do ya all think?

Here it is at the moment:

That's going to look nice. Whenever I see a naked Firestorm, I always think the radiators get in the way of an otherwise nice looking side profile. The lowered exhaust looks good, but is there enough ground clearance?

Also, if you can make the frame black, that would be super cool.

Looking forward to this...

Take it with the single swing arm you need a different type of paddock stand less stable and more wear on the bearings due to the twisting moments. Or am I being a old fart :D

Does look nice tho 8)

Cheers for the comments, I am going to have a look at ground clearance for the exhaust tonight, and as for the stand I am using an Abba stand, I think they are much better than paddock stands, a lot more stable and nice and easy to lift the both wheels off the gorund
