Essential mods?

Post by zixxer »

Hi lads, I'd like to ask you what are the mods you have made to your Storms that you couldn't live without?

For me it was the WP shock rear and WP reworked front legs.

43 Tooth rear spocket and a 4mm spacer under the rear shock.
Feels like you have another 15 HP and she goes around corners soo much better :P

Even though I'm average height - first thing I bought was a Powerbronze flipup tinted screen to stop helmet buffeting at 80+ Not as trendy as a double-bubble but it does the job.

Not cosmetic but CCTs should be high priority for attention

Fender extender - to protect front cylinder/ starter from the worst muck.

At this time of year heated grips!

Looking foward to that one in a few years!!

But best mod is straight through Carbon Can Co pipes. They come with a bit of baffling material in them, but that soon blows out.

As there's next to no Old Bill any more, and the cameras can't see how noisy it is, it's the best feelgood factor there is, IMO.

You can use it when you want , and crawl past on a whisper of throttle when you get spotted, either way it's a smile on yer face.... :D
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Here you go F-starter. Try this link (a 5 mm spacer should be fine)

would you believe that here in ireland you can run on any cans you want on any bike. cans that have 'Not For Road Use' stamped on them are perfectly legal here. so you can be as loud as you like.

im working on a streetfighter at the moment, that has a GSXR 1100 engine in it that runs through a set of sidewinders into a one off, straight through set of vance & hines with no baffles whatsoever.

but regarding the Storm. at the moment i have a set of hi-level art cans, the stainless steel ones, and the sound is quite nice. is there a dramatic difference between stainless and carbon in sound.
