Funny thing is , i dont like whisky by itself , but love Whisky Liqueurs , ie Drambuie or my personal favourite Glayva :D

Or even better, get both the whisky and the whisky Liqueur intae the same glass........a Rusty Nail....fantastic :!:

More of an Islay man myself but and good single is OK in my book!

Have a soft spot for the Jura too

Glayva - Lush is just right word for it - too bloody easy to drink though!

Rusty Nail

Post by bikerpiker »

To save a wee bit when making Rusty Nails ,my dad just uses any cheap whisky,...a couple of measures of it , plus one of Glayva (or Drambuie),in a dumpy glass ,top up with ginger ale or whatever :!:

Glayva itself..best withoot mixer :D
.......................................

Zero ,thats a crackin buy with the Talisker , i might just check that out maself :!:

I stand to be corrected here but .....

IMO Glayva is to Whiskey what Southern Comfort is to Bourbon - by that I mean it is a 'true' liqueur - sweet to the taste moreish even.
If you like SC then you'll love Glyva even more.

If Drambuie is more your drink then it may be a bit sweet on the palate - but you may be pleasantly suprised.

RedStorm,
You will need to be quick  they have

Laphroaig down from £25.81 to £20.73
and
Jura down from £23.94 to £18.92

but the offer ends at Midnight

Cheers :D

Laphroaig & Ardbeg
Now there's a man with a smoky taste in malts!

I had three bottles given me at Christmas, a Dalwhinnie, a Balvenie and my old favourite, Glenmorangie which I still think is amongst the best. Isle of Jura is reall nice as well mind you.

Ooh, gutted, my wifes scottish grandfather got me into the stuff, sadly passed last night.

He wouldn't let any other thing past his lips! However, I put a glass of zubrovka (best ever vodka) in his hand and he actually liked it. Anyway I digress,

Justifies a trip though just to toast him! thanks for the heads-up.

I know where to go to get Rab C. Nesbitt translated now!

Just poured a dram of the Balvenie. Yes I know its early, but its cold, dark and I, like the malt, am single and therefore I can do what I like. Apart from the obvious of course......(not that I got a lot when I was married mind)
