Fuel consumption

Post by PJ.Shaw »

Pete,

I also got an April '01 with the small tank. Bought last September with 3900 miles on the clock; never seen rain until I got it but I've made up for that this winter.
I ran out of fuel on my first tankful, foolishly thinking I could do 20 miles after the reserve light came on. I only had to push it about 200 yards but sitting on the bike so that it was upright and filling it to the brim ( from totally empty ) I could only squeeze in 15.5 litres.
I've looked into fitting a 19 l. tank but everyone else is right - why bother!
Just spend the money on fuel and enjoy. :D
