same thing happened to my mate a few months back whilst he was out on his gas gas.
old git didnt see him ,pulled straight over in front of him.
thinking about it when me and jo got knocked of my fireblade in 99 the matey was 82!!(not picking on old people) but they do seem to cause alot of accidents.

makes you think!!!!but hopefully not put you off rideing!!
