Washed various dead things off Nue Red after it's Welsh excursion. You should see the state of me helmet... 8O 8O

Tightend the chain. Not quite put away for winter just yet.

Cleaned, adjusted & lubed the chain on Custurd, ready for back to work morning ride on the morrow.

Also booked up it's MOT which is due soon. Steve where I take it asked if I had a full size plate & a reflector fitted...er it will be... he reackons they are clamping down on it these days... 8O

I got my Storm mot'd this afternoon :)
It started to rain at 1.50pm, I was not impressed I can tell you after hardly any rain for days. However I didn't need to be there until 3.30pm. Fortunately by the time I left the house it had stopped raining and the roads were almost dry. I even got a short ride in before heading back home, and all in the dry :D

Chris.

Same happened to me last week. But I got home just before an unexpected downpour. Stupid thing was that there wasn't a cloud in the sky 30 mins earlier!

Always nice to be given the all clear for another year.
Glad you didn’t have to get it too dirty and wet for the pleasure of getting the MOT.
Did you go far for your spin out afterwards. Psychology my bike always feels better to me after passing for some strange reasonImage

The weather forecast was saying all week it was supposed to be sunny and dry for Saturday afternoon, that was right up until Friday

Lol, bad enough having to go for the mot without having to clean your bike straight after you're right Pete  Different if you're on a ride-out and you get caught-out.

No I didn't go too far, I didn't want to push my luck with the sky being rather grey :)

I get the same feeling as you after getting the bike mot'd :shh:
An odd one that,

Chris.

Cleaned it, adjusted and lubed the chain, fueled it, good to go for the 300 mile commute this week. Bonus that the M23 is back to 70mph, and my USB charger and earpiece lets me enjoy tunes along the way. Needs tyres soon-ish, bought the XSR with733 miles on it in May, 4644 now.

Spent the morning full strip, clean, rebuild & new pads of the callipers that I swapped off Custurd the other week.

There was a note in the bag of the previously refurbed ones, they were done last Oct...So a bit over the normal 6 monthly swap interval...but then we did have almost 3 months of lockdown & much less use after that than normal... The pads were nearly on the ware markers... 8O

Then spent a good hour or so refitting Andy next door's freshly cleand carbs... Only to find after install that they had a jammed throttle, very stiff to open & then didnt snap shut... :eh:

So took them back off, I thought they were just not lubed on the pivot but then decided it was the spring not tensioned then comparing them to the set I had lent him to get it running... The linkage conection on the rear carb was bent, the bit that the flat conecting arm conects to was bent in... Quick tweak with some large grips & all is good...

Boxed it all back up, fired it up to warm it up prior to a balance... Pis sing fule out... Looks like the 20 year old gaskets havent taken kindly to being disturbed... bollacks !

He will order up a repair kit & we will have to do it all again next time the days off align...

Oh & Vanstub came over & basicaly took the pith, drunk me tea & watched the weekends bike racing...

Adjusted the chain on Custurd, checked the tyres PSI front a bit low, realised I need a new front tyre...hmmm more £'s it's booked in for MOT I'll get it done then...

Tidied up, put all the bikes back in the cave done for the day...
