 Yeh I know. I just making use with what I had at the time. Been out in the Garden again today. Done a bit more filling on the tail fairing and rubbing down by hand :D Working on the lugs now. I also filled and rubbed down the little dent in the the side of my tank. The bikes got cobwebs on it and now it's covered in dust. I'm going to have to strip it down and give it a thorough clean and regrease my suspension linkages etc.

Bikes looking sweet Marty. I like the front brakes :biggrin And look at that lovely scenery.

Straightened the front fairing stay on the 2, and while the front upper fairing was off I fitted some ultrabright forward-facing LED indicators.
The ones I fitted in the usual indicator position don't shine very brightly from head on, so the new ones are a second pair, with the side ones acting as side repeaters.

And while I was out in the garage getting mucky, I also fitted a HEL braided rear line to match the fronts. The rear one was still standard....

The home-made rack I put together for the Yorkshire run was made from square tubing, which has fairly sharp edges. It made a couple of small holes in the bag of my new tent.
So I covered the tubing with pipe insulation tied on with cable ties.
That'll do for the day.

Bought the 2 some new bling: I ordered some carbon chain guards (front and rear) from CarbonDomae in Germany, and bagged some slightly (up to 40mm) raised bars for £55 from Ebay.
Should be slightly more comfortable, and I won't have to strain to hold my head up to see the horizon.
And I can then sell the aftermarket ones fitted atm, and get my money back; if not more....

All before 9AM.

I love the internet.

Feeling very Dodgey after a big night out I went for a ride with some mates.

Normally I like to challenge for the front! I wasn't up to it and sat in the middle.

My mates had a good time and so did I.

The VTR ran like a top and all was well. Cruising speed was 4500RPM and all was good.

Bloody cold here at the Mo. Bike normally runs at 81 and was showing 69 as my bolloxs were shrinking.

Anyway, another ride that justified why I like the VTR soo much.

Ready to put a new set of tyres on and have fun wearing them out.

Cheers

Been playing with jetting on the zxr750
Had the tank, airbox and carbs off 5 times so far trying different combinations. Settled on 160 170 170 160.
Runs so much smoother without all the emissions crap.

finished my restyling on the KH125 and decided not to go mental on a café racer seat hump and play it more to enhancing the existing design by removing the ugly commuter clutter.

so in the end it is just new smaller [and 6V led] indicators
cut down ace bars
Headlight dropped down the forks by 1" [had to re position the horn]
Rear mudguard, & tail light removed and a new lucas style tail lamp fitted inside the tail plastic and re positioned numberplate to tidy it all up.

still think I will try and get a smaller front mudguard, but for now this looks old skool cool.

As it was when I got it back from storage and got it running:

Expansion pipe fitted

and all the standard bits are saved, so it can go back to 100% original if some fool wants to buy a fully original 1976 commuter bike

and to top it off Me and Mrs McQ went out for a blast round the local lanes on it............ its like being 17 again
