They might be ok as any replacement springs will be better than standard

Ive pinged an email off to Hagon to see what options they come up with.

Also in the process of sorting a standard shock out to use whilst i have the hagon rebuilt or save for something better

The fork springs I have fitted are "0.85kg/mm spring rate", which is supposedly for a rider of 12 stone referring to this http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26473
But they feel fine to me, not overly soft, nor do they dive hard under braking.

if that guide is correct, the difference between a spring for a 12 stone rider and 15 stone rider is about 0.06kgmm, which is very marginal i believe?, Hence why they feel perfectly fine i would imagine

Hi Guys, OEM STANDARD SHOCK LENGTH IS 345mm "centre eye to centre eye"
If your "aftermarket damper" is adjustable I recommend that you do not exceed 350mm.
If you have fitted a Moriwaki or a Dan Kyle suspension linkage arm do not exceed 345mm and for "Street use" if your damper is adjustable reduce it to 340mm.
Hope this helps

so with having my shock rebuilt, a 340mm centre eye-to-centre eye measurement is ideal for general use?

the problem is i do a mixture of fast road riding but also some not so fast two-up riding

Is a hagon usually a standard build of 340mm measurement anyway or do you think this is something i need to request?

Keep shock to 345mm eye to eye, you have standard linkages.. The Hagon should come in at 345mm same as the original shock.
If you want to raise ride height above standard then use a 3mm spacer on the top shock mount with a std or hagon shock. you could add it at the shock if you get an adjustable length one. What Roger is saying is don't go too high, and don't exceed 345mm with the aftermarket linkages he mentioned.

Ok mate cheers, ill just keep it as 345mm as standard when i get it sent off next month for the rebuild.

when whacking a standard one in for temporary use is it as simple as unbolting one and bolting the other in its place? Obviously i know the rear needs jacking off the floor

Sounds simple, can be fiddly as feck though, use an abba stand if you can it'll make it easier if not lean it over on side stand and chock it with some wood, handy to have a helper with you.

You can use the seat location loops as long as you lift vertically up.
Use two straps, don't use a single strap routed through both loops.
Loosen all of the bolts you need to before you lift it off the ground.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
