Fitted a new second hand rear hugger, didn't quite fit , some fabrication is needed.
Tried to level up my new second hand exhausts, same as above !!!!
All exhaust loosened off, still not quite right, will take more thought :problem:

I had to play around with the headers and the short section off the rear cylinder just to fine tune the levelness mate!

The left side cant really move much and looks great as it is, cant quite get the right one to match up
Think I might give up for now as im gonna take the manifold off to clean it all
back to metal again !!!

A good suggestion Wicky  something we should all do really, carry a side-stand puck. I admit am as guilty as the next person of not carrying one with me on the bike,

Chris.
I just welded a bigger plate on the bottom of the stand. I cant forget it then.

BTW an old jam jar lid works a treat for this.
A bigger plate is not a bad idea  like you say, you can't forget it :)

Chris.

That's my pet hate about twin cans ,
Sometimes you get them lined up first time and others take hours .
It's worth while persevering with them as wonky cans annoy the crap out of me .

Mine are out, so its in the short section? Do you move that up and down to make it work?

Its always driven my potty.

yeah I found it took a bit of adjustment to get my old set right. I loosened the links and rear header connection, slid and twisted everything until they were looking similar, then tightened up bit by bit, taking a step back and checking everything was still in line as I went.

This was after I put them back on the first time...

Image

 ...only really stood back and looked at them once I'd got back from my ride as I put them on in the garage.
I assumed everyone who had seen me thought I was a fool haha

My Arrows, like the standard cans, just slot in and are pretty well set where they are. You can't really adjust them, it's so much easier!

Finally levelled up the new exhausts
Lots of bashing , forcing, swearing, took the whole
system off, and started again !!
In the end I got everything in line and tight, except for the front downpipe,
so with a bit of force I prized it into its little hole and all is
well .
Weather don't look too bad in the morning so an 80 mile shakedown
looks on the cards
Followed by Beer (payday :D )

Went for a ride today after adjusting mixtures and half way through the ride the bike I'd popping like a banshee on the over run and generally feeling flat. A marked contrast to when I first took off.

Made it to my favourite watering hole and it's running like sh1t.

Investigated and found that the remote line I fitted for carb syncing had come off due to the hose being expanded.

Went into the bistro and nicked a steak knife, cut the hose , refitted and all was well again.

Flogged the baldrocks off her on the way over the mountain back home and enjoyed every minute of it .

Nearing home I overtook a car, it was dark by this time and they follow me right up my jackzy on high beam.

I pull over and follow the twats around the block about 6 times until I manage to pull them over and ask what their problem is. I then experience a tyrade of abuse from the young lady driving who says " I thought you were a copper" Her boyfriend starts to take pictures of my bike from the passenger seat of the car and gets mouthy.

I told him that he was an F Wit and that I had their antics on my camera that is fitted to the bike.

I felt like giving him a good smacking , however I refrained and off they went.

Am I getting old and cranky? Maybe, but I hate people in cars who think they own the world when it comes to bikes.

What is it with some people?

A good ride spoiled by selfish self centred twats on provisional licences, driving a car that they are not endorsed to do so.

Sorry for the rant.
