TIMING !!! ARGHHHHHH

Post by scotty »

my bike is seriously doing my head in ,,,, after bending 4 valves when the front cct went tits up on me , i couldnt get it fixed myself sooooo i put it into a garage , after nearly three weeks the mechanic tells me he cant get it timed .
the rear cylinder is fine as hasnt been touched .

problem is in setting the front timing the honda book says the cam lobes should be facing to straight up at 12 oclock ,, but on here it says they should be facing away from each other ,,

what on earth is wrong wi my poor wee bike ?????
Allways in the sh1t !! , its just the depth that varies ;o)

The cam lobes should be facing away from each other :!: They should be approx 10 to 2 as on a clock face. Your mechanic doesn't sound very competent to me :!: Make sure he's using the correct marks on the cam sprockets :!:
