Can the Firestorm run cooler

Post by ItsaKeeper »

I might just be too anxious but feel that my 03 Firestorm runs too hot, no issues on the open road but at speeds of around 30mph in and around urban areas.

On the open road the temp guage reads around 70C but that moves very quickly to 95+ when I am in town; the fan doesn't cut in till around 104C

I'm using honda coolant, checked that no air is trapped in the hoses and checked the coolant level is okay.

Would getting the radiator fan to come on earlier be a good idea?

Saw a very cheap radiator thermo fan switch on amazon for around £7 that claims to start the fan at 85C but not sure if this is true.

Has anyone else had success at lowering the running temp by this method, I don't want to fit a manual fan switch?

All feedback appreciated :D

Those temp figures are spot on... No need to worry.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Thanks MacV2 - I am a born worrier, even worry if the snow plough drivers up north have set their alarm clocks

I agree with Mac, no need for concern with these temps.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
