It's easy enough to check whether you have bent valves.
While the cam covers are off, check valve clearances with a feeler gauge. If both exhausts or inlets on one cylinder are bigger gaps than spec, yes, you are likely to have bent valves.
If properly bent you can see that the affected shim buckets sit lower in the head casting than the other cylinder.
