So Everybody
I picked up my Yellow VTR 1000 today.
It's been a bike I've had on my list forever having toured space miles on fours over 40 years.
I've also had and still got twins ( 1947 Triumph T100, Laverda 750S fully faired 2000 ) Oh and then there's the BSA B40 full comp trials spec and workhorse .. a scruffy blue CBR1100xx Blackbird ( which TBH is fantastic with a pillion etc. )
My Wife's bike is a mint XL125V Varadero that she is going to use and then do Direct access ( 30 years after having kids
I've also had Triumph Triples - most recently the 995 - which was a top bike with a Scorpion can and a Map I did myself.
I can honestly say that the VTR sits firmly in the upper couple of bikes if not the best.
I rode it back 50 miles from Donington to Rotherham on the Motorway - a good blast. But then closer to home on the lanes really gave it some in lower gears up to the limit ... wow!!! what a noise even on std pipes, the engine braking is fantastic, even to the point of getting home and having a wee and going back out again
This bike is one I should have had years ago - the Laverda twin is good but more like a two stroke. The VTR is as lazy as me but when you wake it up ....haha brrr brrr brrrp brrpp hehe hehe.
I totally love it.
Bring on those training days with Caroline on her XL125V keeping up etc.
