T-reg VTR in Colin Edwards colours. Tricky one to price this as it's not MOTed, needs the bodywork tidying and ideally needs new tyres. But it's on a freshly rebuilt engine and is complete and running. Can come with some nice parts and spares too. It's been down the road on the right side but I've repaired (Plastex) the cracks so a bit of reinforcement, some filler and paint would have it looking nice again. No matching pillion cover unfortunately.
Stock engine, new parts include: Crankshaft bearings; con-rod bearings and bolts; piston rings; valve stem seals; head gaskets; cover gaskets; gearbox seals; exhaust gaskets. Everything measured up within service limits and I've got all the measurements if anyone wants to see them.
Nearly new tapered head bearing too.
Rogered forks with 9kg/mm linear springs and polished lowers.
Polished engine covers.
New battery , Yuasa YT14.
New filter.
V5 in my name but it's with DVLA for change of engine number.
Extras:
Penske rear shock with 800lb spring +£300
Mori road cans. Scruffy but could be tidied up +£50
Dyno Jet needles and jets +£30
As may spares as you want from my stash. Mostly calipers and hoses, but I have some aftermarket filters and odds and sods of bits that might be of use £FOC.
All in cira £1,700ono for what I think would be a tidy Storm.
Stuff that still needs doing:
Indicators have an intermittent fault - slight hesitancy to function. It seems to be the front ones causing the problem and cleaning the contacts helped. Could be the switch or connector block but I've not looked at either.
Needs exhaust band clamps
TPS is set but carb balance could be checked. Runs sweetly though so might not be worth it.
Tyres are 7 and 10yrs old
Rear brake hose needs replacing - spare included.
Left foot peg could do with replacing.
I'd replace the front brake MC res.
Bodywork repairs and repainting. If you're handy with bodywork I don't think this is too big a job. Or if you have spare bodywork, just replace. V5 says Red.
I'd remove the undertray and replace with stock.
I'd also swap the belly pan for a plain black Mori style one.
More pics available if wanted.

Re: 1999 VTR, £1,300ono.
Straw poll please folks - am I asking too much for this? Not a sniff on the bike yet, just the parts.
Re: 1999 VTR, £1,300ono.
if you only have it advertised on here, then that might be the reason there is low interest as most have a bike already.
as for price, I don't know what they sell at, but could be that people are put off by the cosmetic damage

No it's on most of the usual places too. I was thinking the damage could be the issue.

I'm inclined to agree with Al that it could be the cosmetic damage that is putting people off.
I'm sure it will go, it's just when is the question,
Chris.

Reduced price. I need this gone before the autumn so I can start work on the race bike. I think there's nice bike in this for someone handy with the paint tins.
