Good day from cold Netherlands

Post by JollyVTR »

Hi, my name is Maarten, 50+ and currently I'm owner of my 2nd Stormer. In total my 19th bike over the past 34 years, with lots of Beemers, Yamaha's, a Suzuki T500 and GT380. So decided to buy myself a '01 Yellow crashed bike, beside a F800s Beemer/Rotax parallel-twin. The previous owner of my VTR chooses to run of-road, preventing a kiss with bicyclist, unfortunately... As the local dealer saw no business in damaged bike, the bike was sold via Dutch- Ebay.... Since there are really a lot of VTR donor-bikes circling around, for my a good reason to give the bike a 2nd change.

Hi, Maarten, let us know what parts you need. Before and after pics are nice, too.

The restaurantion of the 'banana' runs fine. This is how it was....

The bike was stalled in Italy, awaiting for 2 months, before it was taken back return home.

Maintenance and repairs to do/done:
-Link- and swingarm bearings clean and grease.
- Camshaft chain tensioners replaced by manual ones.
- Valves clearance check and adjusment.
-replacement of: fairing complete. Cooling-core rightside. Exhaust mufflers for the original ones. Fuel-valve diaphragm. Right food pegs, brake master pump/reservoir.
And as the fueltank is damaged also, I intent to repaint the bike into another colour: steel-grey B8B8 of VAG
