Here but not quite here... from Torquay
Re: Here but not quite here... from Torquay
well I got "the phone call" today....
seems the storm is a cat B write off. However the insurance have given me a fair payout so im only marginally down on what i paid for her.
My bones are a long way off riding one anyway, so i guess ill keep my eye out for the autumn bargains
will remain a passive-stormer in the meantime.

Yeah buy it back, you won't have to pay a lot for it, that's providing your insurers will allow you to buy it back of course,
Chris.

yeah did ask but cat B is not for repair apparently. and sadly ive nowhere to keep the carcass if i were to break her down. Think im just going for the clean break (unlike my collarbone )
Ive things to do on the fazer as well to keep me busy....

I'm guessing it must have been a bit more than cosmetic damage to be a Cat B.
At least you have the Fazer to potter with when you're up to it, get well soon,
Chris.

Havin been there done that. Bloody insurance company will ask for 2/3 rds of what they pay out for you to buy it.
In my position it just wasn't worth it.
Then they told me that they were only getting £100 from the salvage company that was coming to pick her up.
"Nothing I can do about it Sir." Said poor bugger on the phone....

Yeah, maybe. But if you've bought a Dremmel........All you'd need is a big hammer.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

well ive been a bit neglectfull over the years and her forks are a bit jaded. Ifigured a bit of a polish up was in order hence the dremel, i tried a patch with some fine grade sandpaper and it came up a treat.
