Today's Homework:- The Limousine Effect.
How would you describe the Limousine Effect as in describing how your bike handles
Chris.

Is Marty driving the limo?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

It grounds out over humpback bridges?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: Today's Homework:- The Limousine Effect.
from what I've read in the past. limos are supposed to be shockingly engineered. iirc some were made by prisoners in the usa. real basic cut n shut tech. i'd like to think things have improved but who knows, personally i've never had the pleasure to drive one. and tbh i have zero interest in driving one.
i have been a passenger in them tho. but even that is a chavvy as hell these days
as for decribing a bike as one. it wouldn't be a compliment
wouldn't mind a go at this tho………..https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news/430 ... spartanntp

Why is it I get the theme tune to the Munsters running through my head looking at that.

That is our future.....Mad Max. It's not a bike, it's not a car, will it have to pay emissions tax.

Well you've all failed your homework but take pride in yourselves for attempting it, as plenty of others didn't have a go
Now on a more serious note.
I'm sure I have read in bike magazines years ago how journalists have described the way a bike's suspension allows it to float up and down slowly as it puts up with the undulations of our roads. It's like the whole bike rises and falls on both the front and rear suspension at the same time in a controlled fashion. This happens on roads where the speed is more constant and you're moving on at a fair rate, for example motorways or dual carriageways. This is where I think the term "The Limousine Effect" is used, as you see that sort of thing happening in films with big American cars floating up and down in those conditions I have described soaking up the uneven roads.
Surely some of you must have heard of this, otherwise I must be cracking up
Chris.

I feel like I've regained my sanity to a degree
I have just come across where I read about the Limousine Effect, although it is more precise than I had remembered as they referred to it as a Cadillac feeling, but still a Limo none the less. It was in the PDF I have for Penske Racing Shocks.
It's mentioned under the REBOUND heading:-
Chris.
