pissed off with honda

Post by agentpineapple »

feeling pissed off with Honda tonight. i'm in the process of changing a friends bike from uk plates to Spanish plates. the Spanish version of vosa wants a eu certificate of conformity (eu coc form), so I contact Honda uk. they tell me that because its a pre 2000 bike, it's not possible to have one, they say they do an equivalent which is called the Year of Manufacture document, it will cost £30 only payable via cheque or postal order, and can only be applied for by post, and it can take 4 to 6 weeks ffs, it's like living in the dark ages.
so my friend applies for the document. and we have to supply the chassis number, engine number, what year it was made, basically all the info on the logbook.
so i'm expecting a tech sheet style doc which gives info like, height, width, weight and so on.
but no, Honda sends me a letter with all the info I had sent them and nothing else.....FFS
utter waste of time and £30.
a friend of mine sent me a pdf of two eu coc forms, both highly detailed with tonnes of info.
Honda hold your head in shame!!!!!!!!
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

I met a chap last Wednesday at the Meldreth meet who told me what a nightmare it was registering a bike in Spain...

Its a bit shite but Kawasaki refused to do it(date) at all for my friends KR1.

Luckily the VJMC do it as part of their membership, for a fee of course.

The form you have had back from Honda, is it enough to satisfy the Spanish?

Bureaucracy is a nightmare. The Spanish would most likely prefer you to purchase an already Spanish registered bike. Maybe it's easier for them to monitor not to mention the taxes earned from purchasing there.

Paint it in Repsol.
It all becomes possible then.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
