Rear shock options

Post by Ianasauras »

Howaya lads,

So the rear shock is on its way out according to my mechanic. There's a few oem shocks on ebay for less than €50 euro, but am I taking a chance that they might be as knackered as mine?
I'm not interested in the money for Ohlins or Macon. Even the USA ones are pretty steep. What else is out there and what's my options?

Might be interested if lads of here are selling something for resonable money.

Thanks!

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

i would check out the the suspension links before you buy. I thought my WP as totally had it, it does need a rebuild but it also had two seized rollers .... that was the main issue

Some will say no !

I have a mate that worked at the local Yamaha dealer who did mine.

Cost me $250.00 Oz.

From memory he had a bit of trouble and it took a week for parts.

He also had to machine part of the body.

That was about 4 years ago and it still works fine.

Thanks for that, I've got a spare one that I could have rebuilt. I'll get looking into it with local suspension specialists.
