Spent about three hours cleaning it. It wasn't even very dirty but it took ages to get the brake pistons moving freely.

Fitted a belly pan I've been meaning to fit and snapped a sump bolt. Tried to sort the alignment of the chappy race seat unit I've got and snapped two taps making new mounts.

Great day! At least the captive spacers went in OK. As did new wheel bearings.

@bald_pig How's the VTR rebuild after your bridge escapade?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Popped to the local fabricator suppliers on the bike, first ride of the year. It's still a little too cold damp'n slippy for it to be fun though.

Managed to blag a piece of 8mm plate to make a manifold plate to mount the 40dcoe carb.

new exhaust hangers from projection components delivered. There should be nice weight saving, and sharper (nicer) angle of pipes too.

This morning went out to the skate part with my brother and nephew, last time I rode a BMX was circa 1983, skate part was as chaotic as the M25 on a Friday evening but a great laugh.

The whole thing has moved on since I last did a bunny hop...!

Straight after that with the roads dry and some sun out, I took my daughter for a spin on the VTR , ive ridden a few "big" V Twins before but never owned one, gearbox I found clunky(must check chain tension) but even with the stock cans it sounds very good from the midrange to the top end, i found it effortless to ride, brisk and comfy too..Just the job.

My daughter has been riding a moped for 6 months and (seriously..) feels she could ride it now...

looks like a fun day out mate, vtr's are such an under rated road bike, every now and again, I think about selling mine and getting something else, but I doubt i'll find something that's better than the storm.
